Dear Massachusetts

Dear Massachusetts,

Well done. Thank you for making a wise choice.

I sincerely hope this is a step toward taking control of this country away form the looters and destroyers on both sides of the aisle.

7:07 – Left for dinner

7:07 – Left for dinner

9:03 – Got home from dinner at the Silverton Casino buffet.

9:05 – Grabbed a few bottles and a chrome-plated mixing pitcher from the pantry

9:06 – Filled pitcher about 2/3 with ice, poured dry vermouth over ice. Swished around for about a minute.

I have seen the future of the web and it is shiny [UPDATED]

Web 2.0 is here. Sure, it’s the future of the Internet, but since the Internet waits for nobody, we need to deal with this wonderful future technology now. Why? Well, mainly because it’s here. This doesn’t even take into account Web 3.0, but since it’s a real future technology, not a future technology of today, I’m not worrying about it yet.

Breakfast of Champions

I went to lunch with a friend and Las Vegas blogger Hurricane Mikey yesterday. He actually writes in his blog, as opposed to me. I just pay hosting fees and occasionally pop in with something interesting to say or (more probably) something to complain about.

Fry’s price matching works!

I’m genuinely surprised in a happy way.

Fry’s has a price matching policy. It’s not plastered all over the store, but I found it on the good ol’ Interweb after a short search:

I am officially old.

There were things I did in my younger, crazier years that would probably kill me if I attempted them now. And if they didn’t kill me, I’d probably want to be dead. It’s no secret that I like my spicy food really hot, usually as hot as or hotter than a restaurant can make it. I also haven’t had a cigar in about seven years. So why not combine them?

Lucky me! A job offer.

The world must know about me now. I’m getting job offers from companies I haven’t even sent an application. Heck, I’m not even looking for a job, being rather happy with my current employment circumstances.

Read first. Apply second.

The lovely Mrs. Vargas called me yesterday and suggested that we go out for a sushi dinner. I liked the idea. I like sushi.

Since I work at home, my attire can sometimes be politely described as “casual” and other times, um, well, I wouldn’t want to be in public or under the scrutiny of Glamour’s eye. But I had actually gotten up early, showered, shampooed, and was dressed for public activities in shorts and a nice Hawaiian shirt.

A friend sent me this link: http://www.meganedwards.com/features.htm

I like it. A fellow Las Vegan writing about an interesting town. And it looks like she actually writes on her blog.
